NovelStar 1.0 A tiny html app to write novels - Lemmy.World
Need feedback on my app. I used Claude to help make a super small word processor
to write novels. NovelStar is a retro-styled, Windows 95-inspired desktop novel
writing application built as a single portable HTML file. It brings professional
manuscript formatting, scene/chapter organisation, word count tracking, and
full-manuscript PDF export into a clean, distraction-friendly writing
environment — no subscription, no cloud, no account required. ## It runs
entirely in your browser as a standalone .html file
We also need megadesk. More megadesk
I installed Lubuntu on my Microsoft Surface 2 and my custom PC from 2024 that couldn’t get upgraded to windows 11 due to lack of a tpm chip. We don’t need better hardware, we need better operating systems. We need more Linux.
up to 4 could be 1 to be honest. It’s volunteer and this is a non entity. Therefore the responsibility falls on the person that’s running the podcast to work within the framework and treat people fairly. There could be a rotation of hosts too as well. So this would limit burnout
I meant seeking not hiring this is strictly volunteer my mistake

Hiring Volunteer Podcasters for a New Show under Smarter Minds! - Lemmy.World
Smarter Minds is a decentralized non-profit group on a mission to create an
excellent learning environment that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and
personal growth. We’re launching a new podcast aimed at smart conversations that
raise awareness about AI psychosis — a mental health concern where excessive use
of AI chatbots can cause symptoms like delusions or paranoia in vulnerable
people. Our goal is to inform listeners simply and clearly while promoting
thoughtful dialogue on this emerging topic. What we’re looking for: Volunteer
podcasters ready to commit to recording up to 4 episodes a month. Clear speakers
who are comfortable hosting interview or discussion-style episodes. Interest or
experience in psychology, technology, creativity, or mental health is a plus.
Reliable communication and a passion for spreading awareness in an engaging way.
What you’ll do: Collaborate remotely to create compelling episode content. Help
shape the show’s tone and topics focused on AI, mental health, and personal
growth. Engage listeners with thoughtful conversations that raise awareness
about AI psychosis and more. How to get involved: Join our Discord and introduce
yourself here:

share a bit about your background, podcasting experience if any, and links to
past work or recordings if available. Let’s create something smart, meaningful,
and valuable together!
The problem with llms is that we’re basically going to a large library with books that are small and have a lot of info and we’re asking a calculator to do research for us which has a lot probability of accuracy.
I switched to Mac in 2022 because I was so pissed off that Windows was forcing me to upgrade my hardware to upgrade to windows 11. But this is a mess. At least Apple doesn’t force AI down your throat
I think this news makes me appreciate madden now more than ever as AI will break the frostbite engine even more.
If anything with today’s tech why don’t they bring back the power glove with the switch control updates
