Checking out Sharkey, considering migrating my Mastodon instance to it. Anarchist but not like...that. Long covid sufferer. I like tech and coding but I don't respect it. Land back. On Haudenosaunee territory.

On my self-hosted account, interactions don't seem to be federating. I can make statuses, and they show up locally, but if I browse to @scott from here I don't see anything posted since upgrading from 4.3.1 to 4.3.3. If this account likes a post on that one, for example, it shows up in my notifications on that account, but the other way around doesn't work.

Can anyone help? Is this a bug I should report?

but my first thought is "oh shit what if they're using it to host malware" that could really fuck me, it's the classic github problem.
"compromised" as in "someone created an account that I don't recognize and accidentally filled up the storage on the server which was close to its limits anyway"
turning off open sign ups for everything once I investigate. really something i never should've left on tbh, esp not for the forgejo
shit i think my forgejo got compromised

You can't stop your smart TV from snooping on you entirely, but you can opt out of some of it.

"Grindr is currently revising its terms of service to ask people explicitly if the company can train its AI models on their personal data, which could include direct messages"

"This information will likely be used to train another paid product: an AI boyfriend"

Deeply troubling, and opens the door to so many (potentially life-threatening) security vulnerabilities:

In Gaza, every person, the first thing they want to tell me in English or Arabic is 'We need food.' They are saying that because their assumption is the world doesn’t know, because how would this be allowed to happen if the world knew? ~ UNICEF spokesperson James Elder
