#AudioMo day 25:

On August 12, 2007, my partner, her parents, and I took a day-trip to visit Korea town in Chicago. While there, we came upon a couple of locals performing what I presume to be some kind of traditional Korean drumming. I don't know what the speaker is saying, so forgive the vagueness of this description. Enjoy.

#AudioMo day 24:

Revisiting a performance given by the Irish musician Seamus Kennedy from June 6, 2010, in which he performs a song about living in Chicago.

#AudioMo day 23:

Some ambiance from a #TexasRangers baseball game my family and I attended on a sweltering September 7, 2008. In it, you'll hear some organ music, a few baseball plays, and good old Chuck Morgan reading an ad for Texas Rangers-themed Bud Lite bottles.

#AudioMo day 22:

A snippet of a bus ride I took in early May of 2008. In it, a woman went on and on about being late to a critical appointment (which turned out to be a haircut), and a cranky old man finally had enough. For those who followed Blart Radio back then, this was the man I dubbed "Real Life Ed."

#AudioMo day 21:

A super close-up recording of my first ever Keurig coffee maker from November 7, 2008.

#AudioMo day 20:

Trying out #Suno's musical cover feature from the perspective of a mediocre guitar player who wants to realize instrumentation he can only hear in his mind.

In this demo, I play three short riffs on an acoustic guitar and play clips of what Suno did with them using various styling prompts.

For those without extreme talent, equipment, or production chops, I urge you to give this a try yourselves.

I managed to locate my Giant Squid Audio Lab binaural microphones and the same pair of sunglasses to which I normally clipped them, and did a test recording with my Zoom H1 Essential. In it, I perform the usual stupid tasks like sticking my head in the freezer, opening and closing doors, and later take the dog outside for a brief walk and demonstrate our windchimes out back.

Some normalization was added which squished the louder dynamics a bit.

My grandpa who passed away back in 2011 had a nice little grandfather clock in his house. I always enjoyed hearing it chime at all hours of the day whenever I'd visit. Here's a recording I made by putting two microphones inside it one time c. December 28, 2008.

Miss you, Grandpa.

#AudioMo day 17:

Since people seemed to like the last one, I decided to share another jazz recording from my university's student union from March 8, 2007. This time, it's the UNT 5 o'Clock Lab Band performing a song titled "Why Not? Because."

Recorded using an IRiver H-120 with a set of Giant Squid Audio Lab binaural microphones about 15 feet away from the band.

I recorded some strange things during the Blart Radio days. Here is my Donald Duck impression slowed down about a fifth reciting, as majestically as I could, the preamble to the United States Constitution from May 31, 2008. Background music was "String Piece" by @FreakyFwoof.
