I’m going to extract myself from my last FB group after not checking any other parts of that terrible place for many, many months. Instagram will have to go away, too, as it’s part of Facebook. I got rid of Giphy. Now it’s just Twitter and this place once every few months.
Mastodon’s become the place I check in with every 3 months, because I’ve never fell into conversations here, whereas I can on every other platform. Am I in the wrong instance? I like the idea of Mastodon, but I haven’t found my footing.
Here's a very pink photo of my friend Geof far away and tiny. https://elanmorgan.com/blog/gratitude-list-1112
Gratitude List 1112: An Old Friend, Birds, Rain, Raspberry Biscuits, and Plans — Elan Morgan

Weekend before last I went on a 5km hike with my friend Geof who I’ve known since 1993. It’s good to have the kind of friend who’ll still spend ages trekking around a river and across a train bridge with you after 26 years. While we were on that walk, we saw geese and ducks and cormorants and pel

My head hurts.

This is a big one. I was sitting at my desk trying to get through some work, but I couldn't concentrate, and then all these words came to me. I haven't written like this in a long time, and, let me tell you, IT FEELS GOOD.

On Bodies and Fear and Love In a Time of Heartache — Elan Morgan

Three weeks and one day ago, Aidan and I came back from the last of two nearly back-to-back trips. The first was to New York, and the second was to Waskesiu, a lake and small resort town in northern Saskatchewan. I’ve been going to Waskesiu more years than not since I was about six months old, and

Broken Will

My will is half-broken. I am crawling for the door, a piece in each hand, four-legged and shifting beneath the alarm’s laser lights, wondering if I could just lie down here and breathe real quiet and slow, would you all let me stay.

It's funny how I can publish my poems publicly for years and share them on stage in front of strangers several times over the last year, but reading them out loud on my little blog audio podcast had me frozen for months. Brains make such fun games of things.
I finally put out the audio version of the 12 poems I wrote during National Poetry Month in April. I aim to do this for all my blog posts, but I psychologically bottlenecked myself about podcasting for a little while. Here they are: https://elanmorgan.com/blogcast/12-poems-for-national-poetry-month-april-2019-audio
12 Poems for National Poetry Month, April 2019 [audio]

Summary: I put off recording my poetry entries from National Poetry Month in April, which resulted in me putting off doing any podcast episodes at all, so I decided that it was time to overcome the fear and embarrassment and just read all 12 of them to you in one go. Enjoy! Notes: You can read
