In Xero for example I can search for invoices or contacts in a much slower and more cumbersome fashion in the new AI tool than I can with the old search field!

Oh, you mean a useful way, never mind.

Self inflating nipple shaped balloons that generate their own lift without any helium would be an incredible achievement but that doesn't mean it's useful beyond being novel. Chatbots are ultimately just predictive text on steroids, and only complete fools would base their business, or entire economy around it.

I'm creating a new start up called QuantumFlop Electricity - there's a 10% chance it will cause a black hole to open up in the Atlantic Ocean that may eventually consume us all but a 50% chance we'll have unlimited clean energy. We'll never know for sure if at any point that black hole may open as it's borrowing energy from the 81st dimension, but the upside seems pretty good.

Should I be able to get on with it?

So they did the math and worked out it's cheaper and easier to lobby the government instead of working to make their product safe.

Absolutely, the world changing near AGI capable of PHD reasoning and imagination just cannot possibly be trusted to decide on a refund. They'll let it choose a target for a Tomahawk missile but the real problem would be giving it the decision to refund a few bucks. The broligarchy care less about collateral damage in war than they do about refunding someone's $20/mo sub.
