Greenbelt home development is shortsighted and unecessary. Doug Ford's plan for Ontario's housing crisis is full of holes. Building more detached large homes won't help many people since it's too expensive and also creates harmful urban sprawl. What is needed more of a mix of housing options, including rentals that are affordable, accessible, and environmentally sustainable. Bill C-22 and the Canada Disability Benefit is close to the finish line, but the Senate is about to adjourn for summer. Bill C-22 must be passed before then. 40% of people living in poverty in Canada have a disability, yet the disability poverty crisis is virtually invisible to those who do not experience it. People with disabilities have waited for too long to receive the life-saving supports this bill would begin to give them. We can’t leave them waiting any longer.

I support a strong cap on the oil & gas (O&G) industry pollution because this sector keeps pushing government to subsidize its pollution clean up, despite record-breaking profits.
A strong cap means fairness -- the O&G sector must cut climate pollution by 45-60% from 2005 levels by 2030. NO delays, NO offsets, NO handouts or subsidies, and NO exceptions.
Our MPs need to put the interests of all people in Canada ahead of the profits of a few oil & gas corporations.
