"Back to work today, forgot my pass so locked bike outside Cannon Street station. Left work at 6pm to find just the cut lock and no bike, resigned to never seeing my trusty stead again asked the station if they have cameras. A guy appeared waving at me, asked me to put the code into my cut lock. He replied ‘I have your bike’ with a smile I will never forget!! His name is Abdul Muneeb and he works for South Eastern Railways, he was on a break and saw a guy bolt cut the lock and challenged him to give it back, he then took it inside and waited 4 hours after his shift finished to personally make sure I got my bike back. The world needs more Abdul’s, he is a legend of a man and a credit to his employer."

Amazon kindle is an underrated product. I love reading books on kindle as much as I do in hard copy. I am amazed how seamlessly you can email your books to your kindle. I don’t know why Amazon doesn’t market kindle aggressively.

The Register wrote a story about a single maintainer open source project, I think it's shameful and upsetting. So I wrote a blog post about it

An absolutely ridiculous amount of open source is one person projects. I have the data to prove it

Open Source is one person

The Register recently published a story titled Putin on the code: DoD reportedly relies on utility written by Russian dev. They should be ashamed of this story. This poor open source developer is getting beat up now to score some internet points. It’s very upsetting. But anyway, let’s look at some receipts. If you’re not real smrt, it seems like pointing out an open source project is written by one person in a country you don’t like is a bad thing. It could be. But it also could be the software running THE WHOLE F*CKING PLANET is written by one person. In a country. But we have no idea which country. It’s not the same person mind you, but it’s one person.

Help request. My brother has Stage 4 colorectal cancer.

His life insurance has refused to pay out on a technicality, meaning he and his loved ones cannot afford the mortgage on their home.

I've never asked for anything in return for infosec stuff, but if you have anything spare, please chuck it this direction instead:

This felt too valuable not to share. Braille-labeled maps of washrooms to help people find and use facilities in the washroom. Everyone deserves to get in, do their business, wash their hands, and get out in peace and safety.

This seems valuable for all public spaces.

“slopsquatting, a new term for a surprisingly effective type of software supply chain attack that emerges when LLMs “hallucinate” package names that don’t actually exist. If you’ve ever seen an AI recommend a package and thought, “Wait, is that real?”—you’ve already encountered the foundation of the problem.

And now attackers are catching on.”
