I got the TTArtisan 56mm F1.8 for 150CHF. It has better flare performance at night, which is my primary use case.

If you think this is an expensive hobby, consider that I spent ~2k€ of my own money over 2 years just on JLCPCB orders for my railway signal project. I was a broke student and the uni couldn't process VISA payments, so I just paid that out of pocket. Why? It brought me lots of joy!

Oh well, lucky for my bank account, the lens can only be pre-ordered and ships in September. Guess I'll continue to use my Sigma 23mm F1.4 then, instead of getting the Sigma 17-40 F1.8.

Geology is quite difficult in Beckenried. Due to instable ground it was not safe to just cut the road into the hill. That's why they built the elevated highway and had to put the foundation all the way down to stable rock, which is partly 70 m under ground.

They had another exhibit where they showed the development stages of the Swiss crocodile. From egg (Z gauge), to larva (N-H0 gauge), to pupa (0-1 gauge), to butterfly (baby croc), to… a big ass croc. They are really very dedicated to their train exhibit…

They also have a lot of model trains.
1. A bunch of iconic Swiss locos in H0, like the Re 460.
2. And then another even more beautiful Re 460 in 1:10 scale behind glass.
3. And then another battery powered Re 460 for the outdoor model train.
4. And then another *really* big model Re 460 at the Lucerne train station… 🤔
