@stux Is that the only reason for the ban? I thought mastadon wasn’t exclusively made for the European community.

@stux We are being drowned in a sea of advertisements! Like a pandemic they are taking over the internet! There is no way to get rid of them. Except for when you’re using Mastodon of course!

@stux I’m afraid this is just a temporary reaction to Twitter’s takeover by Musk. Same thing happened when WhatsApp changed its privacy policy. Thousands of people flocked to Telegram only to find out that they have very few people to interact with. Most of them have now gone back to using WhatsApp because that is the only viable option. Unless we have decentralized and interoperable systems of communication, we will keep going back to big tech.

@Tutanota interesting answers. I use signal and WhatsApp, simply because I have no contacts on any of these other apps. It would be nice if you could message across apps.
