We are shocked by the fact that results of studies with potential large impact on women, are put out on Twitter like slogans or sensational headlines. Sharing teasers on social media wouldn’t fall into the category of serious or ethical research.

A compelling argument for eggs in mid day meals.
But we knew ALL of this already.
Why is caste so virulent that it denies basic nutrition to children?
As the debate continues, it is important to understand why activists are making a case for eggs in mid-day meals. Farzana Afridi, an associate professor with the Indian Statistical Institute, tells Lounge about the role school meals can play in enhancing children’s cognitive abilities
In India, distancing oneself from the ‘polluting, inferior’ meat and meat eaters is a deliberately exaggerated casteist behaviour marker. Although only about 30% of Indians self identify as vegetarian, this too could be an inflated number because of the stigma surrounding meat eating. Ironically, milk and milk products are conveniently labelled as ‘vegetarian’ ignoring their animal based composition.
