this is litterally what they do. point at opposition and try to imply they are pro child abuse. actually really sick to use such a method. I suppose that is what u get for decades long degradation of education and other things. A bunch of childish freaks in power who can only try to chuck eachother under the bus instead of doing something actually good.

our new prime minister (NL) was asked about some campaign promises recently (ones important to a lot of his voters actually) and he justs plainly said somethin like: yeah well sometimes u just gotta say shit to get votes.

i mean, its not news ofc... but now they dont even care to mask it. They know the public will just bend over and take it anyway.

just sandbox the interpreter (in this case), package manager and binaries.

u can run in chroot jail and it wouldnt have accessed ssh keys outside of the jail...

theres many more similar technologies aleady existing, for decades.

doing it on a per language basis is not ideal. any new language would have to reinvent the wheel.

better to do it at system level. with the already existing tooling.

openbsd has plege/unveil, linux chroot, namespaces, cgroups, freebsd capsicum or w/e. theres many of these things.

(i am not sure how well they play within these scenarios, but just triggering on the sandboxing comment. theres plenty of ways to do it as far as i can tell...)

it sometimes makes me think of a video at some point of a guy (Daniel Tammet) who had some brain difference,which caused him to be extremely fast at language learning. He said all language carries the same patterns for him, which he sees through synestesia or whatever.

he learnt icelandic in week and had a fluent conversation on their national TV to prove it. (this is nuts, that language is extremely difficult to pickup with nasal sounds etc.)

ofcourse i guess its not even close to average to have such a abilities as a human, but i wonder if at some point LLMs and AI algorithms and models might shed light on such kind of abstractions (like some mentioned in comments also about image recognition algos) that might help humans actually learn these things themselves, train on them and perhaps even get taught such a thing as a skill.

pretty cool experiment, i thought about someone maybe doing this and am happy you did it in this way. nice writeup too. this made me giggle a bit:

provide support on a product and accessibility are really different things.

accessibility is like implementing braille and things for deaf and colourblind etc.

support is resetting password and helping with accounts etc.

so one is to get a certain category of users to be able to access your site in the general sense. the other (support) is about helping people who already can access your site or service.
