I tend to join gamejams (which I do now and then) as an artist, since nobody would otherwise let me draw, hue hue.
I drew these plants recently for GMTK Jam 2024, style didn't stay very consistent and some are kinda nonsense but overall I think I did ok in two days. Didn't know I'd be drawing plants or doing #pixelart but that's the fun of jams, never know what you'll get.

Is it just me or doesn't the extreme anamorphic/barrel distortion not serve much of a purpose on all of the #Fallout series?
Love the series itself, but the distortion is really distracting.
Like just look at this. Nothing is ever straight in the entire damn thing. Besides, I'm not sure any lens produces distortion this bad on its own, it's like they added extra for some reason? #anamorphic

Weird how these generative #AI people do not seem to understand, or care at all about, the concept of consent or even the word "no".

There's a word for people like that... though I'm not a fan of cheapening the power of that word by applying it outside sexual contexts.

Anyway, wow just look at that, what a crazy unexpected little hiccup at #OpenAI and totally not the modus operandi of the entire industry.

To continue on this, I fear that the problem with #kagisearch might be the quota, or alternatively the price, however one wants to look at it.

I've now used up 61 trial searches in two days, and their cheapest starter plan with 3600 searches for a year costs $54 USD, if paid yearly.
A rough estimate tells me that 3600 searches would last me a four months and so is a no go. The next option is unlimited searches for $108 USD per year or $10 USD a month, and that really is a pretty steep price.

A little info popup on their plan selection page tells me that "The average Google user searches three or four times per day or about 100 times per month."
I can't really even imagine the person who searches for something three or four times a day... Like how do you need that little info in your life?

Also worth noting is that not all "searches" are created equal, yet they all seem to be counted the same. Quite often I'll just do a quick unit or exchange rate conversion, and that shit wouldn't necessarily even need to hit their backend, yet it's counted as a search the same as something with a hundred actual fulltext results.

Still, I'm not looking to abandon #kagi yet, just really wish the pricing wasn't quite so inflexible.

It's mindboggling to me how deep, complex and awesome sounds so SO many presets manage to produce with u-he's Hive 2 (synth).
Whenever I try to create anything with it, I'm instantly super frustrated like, "wait, what, where are the other LFOs? and where is the mixer? and the per-oscillator EQ or at LEAST way more filter choices??"

And thus I can't create or even CHANGE literally anything with Hive to a satisfying result. So frustratingggg ​​

Yet somehow, so many other people make it sing like an angel. All of the preset patches are fantastic. I'm just.. not compatible. #producer #dtm #hivesynth #hive2
