Now that *event redacted* has passed in the US & we can maybe focus a bit more, I wanted to remind folks that we are hiring for 3 open-rank, tenure-track jobs in the UIUC School of Information Sciences (https://ischool.illinois.edu/our-school/job-openings). I especially want to highlight this position in Digital #Archives, #Preservation, and/or #Curation, which I suspect many #DigitalHumanities folks might find intriguing—you can message me with questions about that one (or the iSchool itself)

I think I likely do want to switch instances once again. hcommons.social is attractive—certainly "the humanities" is the broadest way I’d identify my professional communities. But I don’t want to be constantly switching instances & having to rebuild my feed & graph, so there does feel like some pressure to get it right, or right enough, on this 2nd jump.
Had some out of town guests visit Skeuomorph Press & took the opportunity to play with some of the gorgeous new wood type & cuts we’ve acquired—I thought this 2-color print might express the feelings of US voters today—but also, look at that gorgeous mid century TV image cut! #bookhistory #letterpress
Margo, at least, is unstressed about today’s political uncertainties
What is a toot, if not a subtweet?
Sneak peak of the new #DataSittersClub book cover! Cadence Cordell and I check out #HathiTrust… just like how Stacey invites her friends to NYC. #DigitalHumanities
I know it’s hip to be jaded & predict the worst, but let’s all go vote for the folks not trying to overturn democracy today & maybe we can save it for a little longer

Excited to share this tenure-track job at the UIUC iSchool in Digital #Archives, #Preservation, and/or #Curation, which I suspect many #digitalhumanities folks might find intriguing—you can message me with questions about that one (or the iSchool itself) https://illinois.csod.com/ux/ats/careersite/1/home/requisition/1836?c=illinois

How is it 2022—decades into the social media age—& we have not yet added the em dash to every computer keyboard? I mean straight added—no alt key required.

I know it can be programmed—but this post is about how hardware should evolve with language—& with my very specific habits

Today’s classroom whiteboard art encourages UIUC students to vote tomorrow. My student even made those adorable squirrel “I voted” stickers she’s been leaving all around campus as incentive!
