Meet Yaşar Celep, one of our Scholars attending this year’s #RailsConf! 👋

Yaşar is a backend and platform engineer based in Istanbul, Turkey, with 8 years of experience in tech and 5 years working with Ruby.

He’s also a long-time open source event organizer and is behind many Ruby and Linux gatherings in Turkey!

Outside of work, Yaşar is a trained search and rescue volunteer and LOVES to make Neapolitan pizza 🍕 (he moonlights as a pizza chef at his friend’s pizzeria).

The Ruby Central Scholars & Guides program pairs first-time or early-career conference attendees (Scholars) with experienced community members (Guides) to help them navigate the event, make meaningful connections, and get the most out of their experience.

Scholars receive a free ticket and support before and during the conference, with a focus on mentorship and making RailsConf more welcoming and accessible. 💙

At RailsConf, Yaşar is excited to connect with the Rails community and is currently looking for his next opportunity in software development or platform engineering.

Be sure to say hi if you see him around the conference! 🤩

🚨 MORE HACK SPACES 🚨
We’re thrilled to welcome Test Double to #RailsConf 2025!

On July 9th (Day 2), you’ll get the chance to pair with expert Rails consultants from their team.

Whether you need help with data engineering, product delivery, or DevOps, they’re ready to help! 🦆

Already know what you want to pair on? Reserve your session here: https://buff.ly/P709QEc

& more Hack Spaces announcements still to come... 👀

🚨 UPDATE TO THE #RAILSCONF SCHEDULE!

Do you hate awkward networking activities? Us too...

That's why Allison McMillan created a session to help Rubyists connect in meaningful ways.

No icebreaker activities, small talk, or cringe. Just real conversations.
