Game designer working on the Embark creative platform and way too many side projects

Played a bit of BotW for the first time in years (wanted to check Master Mode) and realized breakable weapons have an extra advantage: the game can occasionally give you way more advanced weapons than your level would allow without breaking the balance or level gating them.

It's pretty remarkable how, from a game design point of view, no game has gotten close to Breath of the Wild. Many games had more content, but none reached the same level of depth and elegance.

My team remade the trailer of the other game my company is making by using our own creative platform. Very meta.

One day I'd like to make a city builder game where you try to make an ideal city instead of replicating current cities. I'm thinking no cars, self sufficient for food and energy, high density, aggressively beautiful and dynamic sort of radical ideal cities.
One principle of game design that I struggle to verbalize properly is "don't make the users suffer for something that is hard to do for the developers". I am not sure how to express it in a more concise way, but I find often that many gamedevs have the attitude of not wanting to do something because it's hard or annoying to maintain for the developers, even if it has a clear value for the player. I feel like there should be an easier way to express this.

This week I released a small minimalist puzzle game called Apoptosis. It's pretty cool and it can be played for free in-browser (desktop and mobile) on itch https://ferruccio4.itch.io/apoptosis

I made a (small) game! It's a minimalist puzzle game about hexagons and cell death. You can play it in-browser here: https://ferruccio4.itch.io/apoptosis

Feedback immensely appreciated
