@Homebrewandhacking pickled damsons! A kilo of damsons, a kilo of light brown sugar, half a standard mug of vinegar. A dessert spoon on all spice, a cinnamon stick. Steep together for two days, very occasionally stirring. Then put in a sauce pan and very slowly bring to the boil. Barely simmer for 15 mins. Put into jars. Keep for a month before use. Delicious with cheese and cold meats.

@mike there are serious downsides, for me, on Mastadon. It’s hard to connect. Sure that makes it super safe but it also makes it super hard to use. Almost EVERYTHING to do with either Covid or Scottish politics is under plain wrappers as if they were axiomatically too vile to be seen in public. The level of self-righteousness is often nauseating, especially on trigger warnings. And longer time users really do patronise terrible.
