By day: university student studying electrical engineering with a specific interest in RF/radio engineering. By night: web & software development contractor working with PHP, Golang, and Javascript.

Hobbies include: amateur radio (licensed as WW0CJ & M7WCJ), foam dart blasters, video games and tabletop RPGs, programming, watching films, and reading science fiction. Probably 10,000 more things I forget to name here too.

I hack hardware, play with radios, and am not sponsored by Raid: Shadow Legends. ADHD to the max.

On my account here, you'll find me posting about various hobby projects, random thoughts, and more at pretty much all hours of the day. You can find my projects and more collected thoughts at the links below.

@dmoonfire When I was back at my parent’s house - I realized how easy it is to fall into that habit especially if the kitchen is far from the bedroom. I think before I went home I brought down 5 glasses from my bedroom that I had forgotten about…I don’t ever eat in the bedroom though so at least it wasn’t plates or bowls.

Things I have to say as a parent:

Today, you have to fill the dishwasher with dishes from your bedroom.

@rl_dane Man, I already kind of suck at the Wordle - this is terrifying! 😅
2025 Headline of the Year nominee (February)

Today I checked my YouTube studio and saw that I had reached 200 subscribers. Thank you!

That’s 100 in a year.

So to celebrate, I made a little pixel art piece with a couple of bits from me and my channel.

There’s Minecraft, me and art, and FlightGear.

@amin Dang, that was a long trip! Enjoy the rest!
@kabel42 @cloud @rl_dane I’ve seen it two ways - via a switch that provides power like you’re describing, and “injectors” that splice together two ethernet cables with a wall wart connection. Example: https://a.co/d/6lgHoOA
Amazon.com: Gigabit POE Injector, 48V 15.4W Power Over Ethernet, IEEE 802.3af Compliant, 10/100/1000Mbps, Compatible for TP-Link TL-POE150S, TRENnet TPE-113GI : Electronics

Finally no longer just lurking here - I've finished my exams as of Friday, and am finally over my slump of doing nothing but reading and watching TV for the past few days, so I'm back! Hoping to get some interesting stuff done after the break that I'll share here.

Happy holidays to everyone who celebrates!

@kabel42 @cloud @rl_dane I've seen a few systems that advertise it, but I've never seen like an "Ethernet HDMI injector" or anything that exists like that similar to how PoE is done - so I'm more concerned about how you'd actually go about implementing it...
@dm I used to have a couple of pairs of Airpods and the best part was always the noise canceling - it is really good at removing distractions. I've been considering getting a pair of noise-cancelling over-ears just to try and get some of that back.
