@itsfoss I got my first Linux laptop, earlier this year. I've been using Pop!_OS Cosmic Alpha. Beyond updating and installing/uninstalling via command line, I haven't picked up any new skills since I'm still green.
@itsfoss I got @pop_os_official as the stock OS on my @system76 laptop. It's my introduction to using Linux on a daily basis. I use it for casual surfing and productivity. I'm still learning to do things via the command line.
The only major issue I faced was my wifi adapter dropping and never returning. After exchanging e-mails and sharing logs with Eric Todd of system76, we got the adapter back to stable, working order.

@davidrevoy I suppose I'm one of the lucky few who never had a Twitter account. Even before Elon Musk purchased the company, I felt like I had no reason to use Twitter. I also avoid "free" services that use data mining and other practices to put my habits and life up for sale. I felt left out when I left Facebook the first time, but I never looked back after leaving for the second time.
@davidrevoy The news hit me real hard. I happened to see Galaxy Express 999: The Movie on TV when I was getting into anime as a kid. I also have fond memories of seeing the Daft Punk-Matsumoto music videos late at night. I got my hands on Interstella 5555 as soon as it was released.
David Revoy... because:
• Independence: No one has control over what I watch, what I use, and how I use it.
• Technology: Super performances, ability to script almost everything, usage of standards.
• Transparency: It's open-source, you can investigate any part.
• Control of my data/privacy: I don't want companies to influence my behavior through targeted ads.
