Hi, I’m Tyler! 25 year-old mostly guy who loves programming and reading manga.

I've been learning Japanese for over four years now. I honestly really love learning languages in general!

Relatively new Linux user (Arch, btw) and beginner in homelab things. Unfortunately pretty good at JavaScript and doing it for a job. I'm getting really into Android dev right now as well!

I frequently talk about my anticapitalist views and other political topics, but I always use a content warning.

I love Fedi and am trying to break out of my comfort zone and meet more people.

Oh, and I have a music degree, and I really love music theory and guitar/piano.

日本語もいいです!

Pronouns: he/him

Follow requests are welcome but subject to vibe check. I love meeting new people on Fedi so please don't be afraid to send me one!

Lmao my last post had 1234 characters, magical
Despite the rocky and controversial start, I think I’m starting to see what the intended message is from the author. To illustrate, I’ll point to a character recently introduced who explains their backstory. They claim to have been kidnapped by an alien when they were younger and that while they were traumatized, obviously, the story was not reported and in fact was actively covered up because the criminal was an alien.

This story leads me to believe this is in fact supposed to be an anti imperialism story at its core.

This most certainly is a familiar setting in history. A country swoops in, takes over another. Starts trying to assimilate the local people into their own culture. Gets away with the most heinous of crimes because they’re in control. Sees themselves as superior.

Initially this story really did give off xenophobic vibes, but I think that was more of a writing flaw than an intention from the author.

Also, the characters are not portrayed as good people. That was another concern from the onset.

Just some observations. I don’t know if anyone else is still reading it. I would like to talk about it more. For anyone who is, do you agree with what I’m seeing? Or do you interpret things differently?
Primeagen is learning music theory, that’s so cool. It’s so fascinating to see how much connection music and programming have. it’s why I’m so excited to learn about writing code to generate music because it combines my interests together
So I’m like a few months into bullet journaling again after stopping in 2020 and I’ve realized that my problem was getting too caught up in the artsy stuff I was seeing. I got the official bullet journal book from the guy who made it, and his method is very minimal and works much better for my brain.
@drheyzeus I didn’t even think of that, that’s such a good idea 👀
@drheyzeus Yes! it’s a little difficult to move but it functions like a normal cube!
All my coworkers are like “Why did you get the squish cube?” and I’m like “because you can SQUISH it!”
