Just a few photos from a walk around the neighborhood this morning in Tacoma, Washington, USA. Yes, that is wildfire smoke tinting the sun in the first few frames. The fire is burning in the Olympic National Park and drifting to the west - thankfully not mixing down to the ground level yet.
Sometimes it pays to look up when running down the trail through Puget Gulch. Saw this Barred Owl during a 5-mile run this morning in Tacoma, Washington, USA.
Double eagle, from today’s Christmas Bird Count at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, Washington, USA.
Here is a shot of a Horned Grebe taken one year ago today on Commencement Bay in Tacoma, Washington, USA. I didn’t do any birding today - just a run through Point Defiance Park to spend some time in nature.
A deer in the headlight during my evening run last night.
I ran twice yesterday, and took two photos with a particular theme. I think I take photos of both of these trees every year when they seem to be at the height of their colors. The first, wider tree is on the Mason Trail in Tacoma, and the second is along I Street in Tacoma.
The smoky air serves as a good filter for snapping an early photo of the sun, which is clearly sporting a number of sunspots that are visible in this shot taken in Tacoma, Washington, USA.
Yeah, the American economy is going horribly…
Raindrops on foliage from a couple of mornings ago.
