@dysfun Many also say they’re good for parsing stack traces, but I haven’t had much luck with that personally. I’m usually better off just reading it myself
@dysfun LLMs can also be useful for parsing documentation. Library docs are often organized by namespace and function, but I’m generally coming to them with a problem in mind searching for a solution. An LLM can convert a plain language description of what I want to do into a function call, which I can then look up the docs for.
@dysfun they’re basically advanced snippet engines. They handle boilerplate and repeated patterns very well, and from time to time they offer up a function or solution I hadn’t thought of.
They’re correct frequently enough to be useful, though sometimes they’re just distracting.
