Better take on this than I provided, from @[email protected] @[email protected]! Proposed Iowa SNAP restrictions would reduce take-up. Eg, WIC has some similar restrictions & lower take-up. Research shows benefits of SNAP (including ↓ health costs), so this is bad idea. https://donmoynihan.substack.com/p/no-snap-for-you

“Home #COVID19 testing has been increasing. As of Aug 2022, about 80% of COVID-19 tests were conducted at home and likely unreported, making officially reported COVID-19 case counts increasingly inaccurate. https://t.co/WFK6cE69RR”

We know people are doing home #COVID19 tests that don't show up in public statistics. How many are these? In Aug 2022, 80% were unreported according to our latest paper @[email protected]: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2800732 @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected]

The GOP just proposed new restrictions on the types of food eligible for purchase with SNAP benefits, putting even more pressure on families with children.

In addition, they would aim to keep families with more than one vehicle from receiving help. 👎

No white grains: maybe that's okay, since we found similar changes to be beneficial for WIC recipients. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapediatrics/article-abstract/2737097
