It's my birthday today, and because I wanted to do something nice, I made my first map pack 40% off until June 10th!

It would be nice if people could share/repost, as buying gives access to the Poll that allows you to vote early on the next map pack theme! I want to make things people actually want, so...

May Theme: Magical Creatures

01.05 Dormarth
A Dormarth (pl. Dormarch) is a strange creature that lives on mountain peaks, particularly those that are regularly enveloped in clouds. They are believed to have once been the hunting hounds of a long-since disappeared psychopomp, abandoned on A’arde during the Call of the Beacons and left to fend for themselves. The Dormarch are relatively reclusive, and seem to feed by catching birds in flight. Unless, of course, they catch the...

...scent of blood. Then, they will hunt down the source of the scent, be they living or dead, and will attempt to consume them. Dormarch have the magical ability to fly, as well as a withering gaze that drains the life force of a foe. Their bite is powerful and their teeth can be used to make arrowheads.
Dormarch have black, hound-like heads and forelegs, and a body that narrows rapidly from the chest, ending in three fish-like tails. These tails have silvery-black scales which can be used to...

...craft potions of flight. They are fast and agile in the air, but once grounded their speed is greatly reduced. They average around five feet in length, and their eyes are said to glow like sunlight reflecting off of mountain snow. They are believed to lay eggs.

29.04 The Legend of Winterclaw
On the night of Midwinter, Deadwinter itself, the Spirit of Deadwinter, named Kholkaeryn, or Winterclaw, stalks the land seeking victims for his dark purpose. He is a terrifying figure; an emaciated man with a goat-like face, large curled horns, and long, spindly, deer-like legs with wicked claws upon his hooves. His long fingers are tipped with black, claw-like nails and his teeth are like sharpened razors in his mouth. His skin and hair are...

...silvery white, streaked with mud and blood, and upon his body he wears only manacles about his wrists and ankles, dragging long chains behind him. Winterclaw stalks the night, seeking people surrounded by negative energies, following them to make sure they are alone before he strikes. He attacks his victims with claws, teeth and chains, beating them into submission before dragging them off to a wintery doom. Many of these victims are never seen again; their bodies never found. Those that...

...are, are found completely drained of bodily fluids, the eyes, heart and tongue roughly removed. Nobody knows why Winterclaw does this, but everyone knows that on the night of Deadwinter, it’s better NOT to take a chance.

30.04 The Mouth of Litanu
Near the Islands of Lotan, tiny rocky islets south of Cnuic Ghlainne, a monstrous whirlpool is said to surface and disappear without warning. It comes and goes with no apparent pattern, no warning that it is due, and no care for who it ensnares in its currents. Many sailors believe the whirlpool to be the mouth of a hideous sea monster, Litany, opening and closing as she seeks to feed. They say that she is trapped beneath the Islands of Lotan; a...

...punishment from the Gods for attempting to overthrow them. Others say she is a former lover of Lernan-Bashmu, cast aside after her unfounded jealousy almost destroyed innocent lives, and chained to prevent her from bringing havoc to A’arde’s lands. Regardless, all sailors agree on this: steer clear of the Islands of Lotan. Be not tempted by the promise of treasure on those rocky shores. The mouth of Litanu is all that awaits you there; a hunger unending; a rage unstoppable. A calamity...

...without warning. Steer clear of the Islands of Lotan, sailor; lest ye meet your doom in the Mouth of Litanu.

#Lore24 Monthly Prompt Ideas

#Lore24 is a daily challenge I picked up on Mastodon that encourages participants to generate a piece of lore content every day, be this for their homebrew game world, for their novel world, or simply custom items chosen at random. There are no rules for how your #Lore24 entries should be created, what order, or how much you should write. That sort of thing is entirely up to you! For me, I like to have themes to work by, so I decided to create my own monthly themes.
