I’m just this guy, you know? A guy who watches Twit.
@leo @Joe In larger instances, the federated timeline is useless. Heck in larger instances, the local timeline is pretty much useless. It’s nice in smaller instances though.

Unfortunately I have to stop actively working on #Metatext for a while due to health issues. I really wish I could implement Mastodon 4 features and squash every bug, but it's not possible for me to do so right now.

I know the app has become important to a lot people, so I'm open to a new maintainer who can carry on its values of privacy and accessibility taking it over if there's interest and a fit. Email [email protected] if you (or your organization) are interested

@seend Since Pixelfed supports ActivityPub, you can subscribe to Pixelfed feed just like you would any other mastodon account.
@mjackson I’m also wondering about tribalism between instances. Humans love drama.
@mightywomble Yes, both support the ActivityPub protocol, so they can interact just like different mastodon instances can.
@Findarato The local timeline will show only posts from the instance you are logged into.
@ljpuk MetaText, not perfect but very good
@chase Talking about Twitter -> Talking about Mastodon -> Talking about talking about Mastodon. 😛
@JT @leo Based on this GitHub issue, Eugen does not think the federated and local/instance timelines are useful any more. So I wouldn’t count on any new features in that area. 🙁 https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon-ios/issues/221
