Personally, I am of the belief that you should never pay for a password manager, especially one that stores everything on a central server, such as Dashlane. Not calling them out, just the only one I can remember.
You shouldn't pay for a password manager, especially when high quality free (both in cost and free as-in libre) exist, such as Pass.
I know Pass can seem daunting, but if you don't want to use Pass, you can use KeePassXC. Available on all OSes, and if you want to have it on mobile, use KeePassDX. Effectively the same program, just on mobile.
