hi to any new folks who have followed or found me on mastodon.social - I think I'm retiring this account in favor of @redoak - please follow me there if you like 😊
I super want someone else to take over my DSA chapter's twitter so I can just get off there and do the masto or nothing at all 😳🤫😬
lmao turns out we're in a dry county and our supplies are running dangerously low with hours to go before the meteor shower. BUT! There is a cute apiary/meadery that has an on/off license somehow, right down the road from our campsite. Peach Mead!!!

This camping spot is obscenely good and I never want to go home. my clients may have a different opinion. We ended up with a car-accessible spot but it felt good to know we were well-prepared for any circumstance.

Today we did a short hike to see old-growth woods, I got to do some serene blissful meditation and yoga by the lakeshore, then a dip in the lake! Now, potatoes in the campfire coals with chili and velveeta 😜💫👍

in awe, absolute unit, etc
the camping is good
This camping trip is funny for me because I’m used to a bright line between car camping and backcountry, and this trip is hike-in but depending on site availability we may only be like a mile from the car. Maybe two. Good for my wife’s knee, and her experience level, but it feels a little odd for being in that gray area. We’ll see!

The Federated Timeline is a lot more useful/managable after hiding content from a few noisy/irrelevant instances.

Figuring out how to block instances was difficult, though. Here's how to do it: Go to the profile of someone from the server you want to hide toots from, press the ••• button there, and select "Block everything from <server>".

Why you can't do this from the Filter section of your preferences or the ••• button on toots...

alright, i talked to her and calmed down. we're gonna go look at trees! and if the weather's good, the Perseids!
this weekend my folks are watching the kids and i'm taking my wife on a camping trip, where i have done 100% of the planning. all she needs to do is pack clothes and get in the car... and i felt good about my plan until roughly 10 minutes ago. now i'm mildly panicking and ohhh 80% convinced it will not match her expectations?
