I created a small repo that has a script that lets you "scrape" comic kingdom if you have a subscriber account.

I hacked it together in the afternoon. You will need a few skill points in Python and cookies to get this working.

Big surprise that.

Hard to celebrate July 4, when there are so many in Congress who are working AGAINST American values. Active Insurrection happened, and the leaders are still walking free.

And there are people out there right now that want people I care about dead, JUST for existing.

I'll celebrate later.

When I was a Devops Engineer at Yahoo, I was tasked with the care and feeding of a server farm set designed to handle 1.7 million hits per second.

It spanned twelve thousand machines across four data centers.

One problem with sites is that once you get popular enough, the capacity gets to where keeping the same "experience" as you had with 50 users, at now 500,000 users, requires a MUCH bigger budget than just a $10/month host.

Site Popularity past a point, requires money.

Eventually, a "twitter" size site requires -BIG- money.

So plan on visiting many, many smaller sites that can sustain themselves.

I took down YNA because no traffic to it, and the bill was such that I didn't want to pay for something nobody used.

So... Shifting more attention to mastodon

8 mos sober, no interest AT ALL for it anymore. Thank you ketamine theraputics. Avoiding starting up on smoking a bowl... Wish I could just RELAX without external substances.

Oh Look, YNA;;

The site is up enough that I can post about it here.

There is enough of the site functioning that I am comfortable enough releasing it in a small way.
