Let’s talk about AI art.

PSA: Rez Infinite is on sale now from Steam for £6. It's also perfect for the Deck.

Also, Rez Infinite is not a game to play prior to going to bed. I forgot how high energy it is. 🫠

@woe2you heya, did you receive a referral link from YouFibre and if so would you be interested in sharing it?

I've about had enough with TalkTalk and their constant outages. 😡

It feels like we're drifting more and more towards a Reform UK government, if not some sort of significant presence in parliament next election. 😔

That being said, the latest date for the next general election is 2029. There is a lot of time between now and then to influence public opinion. It's really up to Starmer whether he wants to actually start leading this country or not.

Jesus, Metaphor Refantazio, I like you a lot, but just end already 🫠

Been playing a couple of chapters of #doomthedarkages every morning before work on the new PC. Doom appears to be the game I upgrade my PC for, though I don't know if that's a conscious thing or just coincidence. I vastly prefer M&KB over control pad for this game.

Anyway, it has a story. I couldn't tell you what that story is, but it has one. I don't care about it in the slightest - as far as I'm concerned, I'm moving from one heavy metal album cover to another between levels.

I thought I'd give it a second try, though. I've refunded the Antika (from Amazon) and instead bought the
Hitachi-LG GP60 External DVD Drive.

Similar sort of price mark (£25-ish). So much better - in so far as, it actually works! Speeds so far seem to be between 5x to 9x. Honestly, I'm satisfied with it actually reading at all.

I guess there's a lesson in this: sometimes brand quality *is* a thing?

Honestly, what I really want is a pre configured PC for the living room, such that I can buy off the shelf, with a console-like UX, and which can play my Xbox PC games and Steam games. Bazzite is nice, but it's not perfect.

As I understand it, this may well be what Microsoft is developing in the next few years, but as a consumer they seem to be a couple of pivots away from building Skynet, so who knows?

Bleak. Very, very bleak. Tally one up for the younger generation being fucked over - over again - and bonus points for how AI is reducing our quality of life.

But hey, at least we can make it generate some cute GIFs for us, right?

The last game, which I started today and was kind of ho-hum on in the beginning, is #aliensdarkdescent.

Again, this is also a really decent execution on a licensed IP and probably the game that has captured the essence of the 2nd film the best.

Cinematically, as in the transitions between missions which tell a story, are a little mediocre. But as a real-time squad-based strategy game (think x-com but played in real-time), it's quite captivating.
