Ok, I'm beyond confused now. my wife's laptop connects to our network share, even the new one, with no issu. This laptop however, does not

@fireborn Ubuntu mate if i remember right, was the only one i found that gave me speech to do setup.

@fireborn It could be as easy that it didn't install it's drivers, it's one of the standard realtech cards and i used USB sound to setit up

@fireborn my old mSI laptop gets along with linux pretty well. It's onboard soundcard doesn't work but that's not too bad
