Any suggestions/recommendations for a repair service? - Lemmy.World

I’ve broken the screen on my modded 2ds XL, but my local repair store refuses to work on 3ds products. I’ve already tried to do the repair myself before on another, and it ended poorly. I would rather not break it further. Is there any service in the continental U.S. where I could possibly have the top screen replaced? Thank you for you time.

Why don't they just go home? (Wrong Answers Only) - Lemmy.World

Just about every episode of MASH I’ve seen, somebody claims that they hate Korea, or that they hate the stupid Army, or that they don’t even know why they’re at war. I don’t get it. Why don’t they all go home? If nobody wants to work there, how come they never leave? Please respond with wrong answers.

Why are apathetic voters bad? The United States does not have direct democracy anyway.

Why are apathetic voters bad? The United States does not have direct democracy anyway. - Lemmy.World

Preface: I do not intend to show favor to any candidate or alter or impact any democratic process in any way. I understand this is an inflammatory topic, some discussions may not be entirely civil but I would like to discuss this topic. I am just weird, but not intentionally malicious today. Whether you agree or disagree, I would still love to understand your point of view more thoroughly. I have been informed that expressing apathy toward voting in the United States Presidential Election makes me part of, “The Problem.” How? Why? If everyone who could vote did vote, would that improve conditions? Would the elite be less corrupt? Would human nature be less selfish? Would the powerful and wealthy no longer seek loopholes? More importantly, can anyone explain to me why it is so important to encourage voting? Why is it important that others vote? Why is it especially important to shame and judge others for not participating? If you say, “Those who do not take action against evil are complicit with that evil,” then how can you be certain your vote is for a non-evil candidate? It is impossible. The role of the politician is serve themselves, they are motivated to deceive voters, by definition. Personally, I can’t trust politicians, but I’m coerced into picking one of the two. How is this democracy, representative or otherwise? What am I missing? Voter apathy inhibits voter turnout, and that’s a problem for turnout. I am not yet convinced greater voter turnout leads to the accurate expression of the population’s values. There are too many problems already in the electoral system that need addressing, but that cannot be changed easily, especially if those problems favor powerful groups. Wealthy groups will invariably get what they want, but I don’t get basic human rights. Because I voted to put those representatives in power before I was ever born. Yeah right. Of course I am clinically apathetic. What sane person wouldn’t be? I’m crazy? The audacity.
