In joint pursuit of the truth:
Some gorgeous photos from last night's SpaceX Starlink launches on Falcon 9 (one launch from each coast). (I've asked SpaceX who the photographers are so as to be able to give them proper credit.)

(Came over here to post, saw that it's already posted and trending, but without respect for the Content Creator, so going ahead with some proper attribution...)

The Apple event is avoiding colliding with the Presidential Candidate debate on the 10th.

Even so, if Biden were still in the race the event would still overshadow the debate (people would either be too anxious and thus in avoidance, or they would think it does not matter to the outcome).

(The invite is doing more than 'hinting' or 'giving vibes' of Apple Intelligence focus, we already know very well from WWDC that Apple Intelligence is going to be a prime focus, though in non-flashy ways.)

How not to run a campaign stop:

J.D. Vance at a donut shop Thursday in Georgia.

The young black lady requested to not be on film.

Did Vance ask folks to stop filming and allow the workers to shift around so the woman was not on camera, possibly even starting the whole scene over? No, he just asked that they cut her out (the cameraman on the video was thoughtful and zoomed in for a tight shot on Vance), but then Vance continued to engage with the lady getting at least her voice on camera.

This photo by Todd Heisler of the NYTimes should be a poster for young girls to hang in their rooms.
A note from a teacher to parents.
(Supposedly. Unfortunately I don't know the original source or web poster.)

"Please join the Space Cadets 4 Harris call this Thursday, August 15th. https://spacecadets4harris.com

Among the dozen scheduled to speak so far are two former NASA administrators: Charlie Bolden (who served under Obama) and Sean O'Keefe (who served in the George W. Bush administration)…"

Congratulations to the USWNT!

I annotated a screen capture of the assist that led to their goal to aid in seeing that the referee correctly did not call offsides (which would be determined by the player position when the ball was kicked). (Guide line was used to determine proper angle of the offsides line. I left the guide line visible so that you may be comfortable yourself with the depicted annotation.)
