There's a modern Chinese proverb:
有理走遍007天下无理，寸步难行。
Roughly translated, it means:
Lifelong shame, posing as 007 in an elevator.
What it means is to avoid doing something embarrassing even if you believe you are alone, as you don't know who could be watching.
