If you want to add pressure to the EU commission to ditch US tech companies like Esri who are supporting the rise of fascism and murdering innocent civilians, fill out the following form as part of an official information request on switching to open-source tech
Esri proudly state on their website that they support DHS operations. The same agency that is currently doing door-to-door searches and murdering people in Minnesota. Another reason that UK and European governments need to ditch US global tech companies for open-source solutions

Looking forward to #FOSS4GUK in Leeds tomorrow. I'll be giving a workshop on using QGIS and Mergin Maps for collecting data. Looks like the weather is going to be nice enough for us to do a bit of the demo outdoors!
@jeremy @mastohost not sure if this is a known issue but I have GrapheneOS running on my mobile and can't view any media or preview images when going on mapstodon.space. Other instances like mastodon.social are okay. This happens when accessing the instance in a browser (Firefox) or apps like Mastodon or Tusky. I know it's probably a bit of an edge case as it works fine on my work phone which is Android.
Shaving 20 minutes off of a 4.5 hour train journey isn't the reason people choose flying over rail, it's because it's 3x more expensive to take the train than to fly. Put the "public" back in public transport.

Technological aptitude shouldn't have to be a barrier to collecting quality data. We try to make collecting data with Mergin Maps as simple as possible with an intuitive UI.
