A small preview how the Rating section on the page could look like.

I'm still in the exploration phase, but it feels quite good already. In this case I have a rating and a review, so the button says "edit". Otherwise it would say create and only appears after I rated a game.

Things still to consider: How do I react when someone has a written review and wants to remove their rating?

Block it?
Add a dialog that says they have to remove the review first?
Allow it?

We will see :D

A small update just dropped. A user request from @73CC that will make their life as a Questlog power user much easier.

And if you work heavily with Playlists (I know you people exist) this will probably be a nice little quality of life feature too.

If you want the Playlist selection to stay open, this is now possible. Just tick the checkbox and it will stay open, until you close it. It's saved in your account, so you won't have to do this every time.

Some other small improvements and fixes are also included in this update. As always visible on the Changelog page.

I finally found the time to write some tests, fix some bugs and now release it.

From now on you can write private Notes for games on Questlog. This can be especially useful when someone recommends a game to you and you don't find the time to play it for a few weeks (Let's be honest, years) and you wonder why this game is on your "Want to play" list.

You can create Notes from everywhere via the Game Log Dialog (Where you change the status) and from the game page itself. From there on you see all your Notes in the "Your Notes" section.

As the "private" in private Notes implies: Only you can see your Notes.

Here and there I also fixed some bugs and optimized smaller parts of the site.

As always, the Changelog is here: https://blog.questlog.app/changelog/

Let me know what you think!

Something I regulary wish Questlog had is private notes to games. And you know what? I'm the one who can change this. πŸ˜…

So in the morning I started working on this.

I will keep it low key this time and iterate from here.

I guess this will be extremely useful for some people. And if not, at least I have some usecases for it :D

Only you will see this note so use it for whatever you need.

Put your sunglasses on 😎 β€” Light mode is here!

If you have your system set to Light mode the next time you open Questlog the page will show you the new light mode. If you want to persist a specific theme you can to it in your user menu (Or if not logged in, in the footer).
This setting is device specific and not account specific. So if you like light mode on desktop and dark mode on mobile (like me) you can absolutely do this.

You're also able to like events now as this was a requests from some of you. And if an event is currently running, it's shown on the home page.

There are many more small changes. The full changelog is in the blog post.

I'm currently preparing Questlog to add an optional Light mode. For this I have to adjust the colors and the CSS structure a bit.

While I I'm doing this I had the idea to bring a bit more color to Questlog. What do you think?

You know what? Adding the Playlist search was quite fun. Wouldn't it be fun to also search for Events? I just did in 0.42.0.

I layed the ground work to implement more searchable entities with Questlog 0.41 and to see how efficient it was, I just added Events to be searchable. That was a quick addition.

It's still the basic search like for playlists without filters, but in the background these are also prepared and will be added in the future.

Another change is, when you are on the listing of the playlists or events the type of the search automatically changes, so you are in the right context already. I decided to not change the type if you are on a detail page though as I found it confusing in testing.

That's all for today. Have fun playing!

Look what just dropped β€” Questlog 0.41.0!

You can now search for Playlists. A feature some people asked for a while ago and especially one user with over 150 playlists will like.

This search is also implemented in the playlist picker when you add a game to a playlist, making it much easier to add games to your lists, when you have a bunch of them.

On the way I also fixed some bugs you reported to me over the last days.

If you're interested in the full changelog, it's already updated: https://blog.questlog.app/changelog/

For now, this is the only thing I can do. Inform every user…

I hate this situation so much.

Hi there. I've just decided to relase the finish date feature prematuraly. I don't have the time and energy to work it out completely currently, but I want you (and me) to be able to set the date when we've finished a game.

So starting today you can set the date, after selecting the finished status.

The date is completely optional and doesn't do much currently. But it's a start and if I don't release it now it will probably take another few weeks.

I also fixed some smaller (and bigger) bugs.
