@questioninguk More seriously though, I relate to your struggles quite a bit. I *despise* the experience of being on a dating app, but I have no choice to wade back into their hell if I ever again in my life feel not so ugly, because I *need* a space where the explicit purpose of being there is to speak to strangers and find a partner.
Being autistic, I've never figured out how to cross that barrier in any other kind of space which I live my life in, and nobody's ever crossed it for me in those spaces either. It would be amazing if there were persistent real-life spaces for doing that, but there's not, and so we have to go through this excruciating process.
I love the straight allies that "don't see sexuality," really I do, but "What's being gay got to do with it?" is pretty oblivious. It's great that they're treating sexuality as not-a-big-deal, but that doesn't mean we get to.
