Centralisation Is a Danger to Democracy

So signal is having technical difficulties due to user influx. Signal didn't want to decentralize because it wanted to be able to continue to provide a reliable exoerience. Yet here they are unable to provide a reliable experience BECAUSE they are centralized.

Good morrow and solidaric greetings.

I see that Signal is up again, but after a long outage that should be a warning that having the whole world rely upon one person's server - no matter how smart or ethical they may think they are - does not build a robust communications system. Neglecting robustness has a cost.

Humanity can not be made equal by declarations on paper. Unless the material conditions for equality exist, it is worse than mockery to pronounce men equal.
