Poor Carl!
A little safe live betting action to begin the day. I tried out darts yesterday and having no idea what the rules are was kind of intense to watch, but I won both bets. Maybe again today?
I got bored and made a Substack for sports betting stuff. First post is about how lame the security is for some of these sportsbooks' websites: https://paulssports.substack.com/p/online-sportsbooks-dont-take-security
Online sportsbooks don't take security seriously

ESPN Bet, DraftKings and FanDuel come to mind as some of the more popular and high-profile sportsbooks in the United States, as companies that don’t take customer security and safety seriously.

And if you really want to know just how much Congress sucks (and just how disappointing Democrats can be -- I say this *being* one) Democrats helped Republicans partially repeal the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Yup, that's the law that Dems passed after 2008 (over hysterical GOP objection) to make sure the Wall Street-led economic implosion never happened again. Dems helped repeal it during the Trump administration.

Go team blue 😐

No one should find it surprising that both parties worked together to deregulate Wall Street which then lead to absolute devastation. Congress sucks.

Now, I do generally believe that liberal economic policies are way better for the economy than conservative ones, but you simply cannot ignore huge job loss during recessions that had *nothing* to do with politics (like the pandemic).

It's disingenuous to the point of being intentional dishonesty.

Most importantly: George W. Bush had meaningful job gains wiped out by the 2008 financial crisis that would have hit a theoretical Dem president just the same, while Donald Trump's gains were wiped out by the pandemic, which also would have wiped out the gains of a President Hillary Clinton.

And Democrats in Congress share equal responsibility for not just allowing Wall Street to be deregulated in the early 2000s, THEY HELPED DO IT!

I've got several bones to pick with this (it has 800k+ views on Twitter as of right now.) First and foremost, Congress creates economic policy through law and presidents don't create jobs. If you want to credit anybody for economic achievements, credit Congress!

There are several gotchas of varying size in here, like Bush 1 and Trump only served a single term while all Democrats and Bush 2 served two terms, meaning the Dem number covers 18.5 years and the GOP figure only covers 16.
