Interrupting your regularly scheduled programming, I've managed to get a successful build of OpenJDK 17 on SPARC/Linux (as in native HotSpot, not Zero). Very rough and ready at this point, but the build completes and some things work.
Today's local history talk was all about our misconceptions about social demographics - marriage, family and death since the Middle Ages. The talk itself isn't online, of course, but there's much more on the website of The Cambridge Group for the History of Population and Social Structure, and in particular their blog:
Yesterday we had a Cambridge Living Streets walk looking at some of the sculpture scattered around the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
There's a lot of sculpture around Cambridge, much of it hiding in plain sight. There are even some trails to follow:

Spent the day in Oxford. Two excellent Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics talks - one about weather forecasts and the D-Day landings, the other about the Europa Clipper.
Good weather too, had a wander round the town.
Trains were busy, and the usual chaos of dealing with major cancellations on the way home.
