Theory: there's such a thriving and vibrant After Effects script and plugin scene because Adobe drags major ass implementing basic things we need.
Case in point: Ray Dynamic Color http://aescripts.com/ray-dynamic-color/
That plugin would have zero success if the color picking tools weren't fucking awful in AE.
