Monitoring a Hill committee meeting about McKinsey contracts. It features Amanda Clarke, a Carleton U expert on public admin. She keeps saying versions of: "This isn't really about McKinsey, it's about government sclerosis, risk-aversion, grass-is-always-greener thinking."

And here's what the @[email protected] Young Urban Leaders team proposed as the ideal for Shoppers World, on the right centre of this image. Not an application, but still a useful indicator. https://toronto.uli.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/14/2018/05/Shoppers-World-Team-One-FINAL-PDF-For-Website-To-be-emailed.pdf

Hi @[email protected] & @[email protected], thanks so much for all your great work. It occurs to me that it would be extremely useful to have a view of this same cluster of proposed development, but LOOKING in the opposite direction, NE towards Crescent Town & 2 Secord, FROM the SW.

A great bit of reporting by @[email protected] on an important, under-discussed aspect of residential development in Ontario: sewage, what to do with it, and an cross-border treaty to protect the Great Lakes.

But you should really click for the animated 💩 graphic by @[email protected] https://twitter.com/thenarwhalca/status/1620051336862760961

I wouldn't normally retweet myself, but this can save time (and I'll grant you current wards are too big to be as indicative as I'd like). But extremes at either end make generalizations about 'Toronto' less than useful. Four wards lost population + 4 took in >60% of the growth. https://twitter.com/StephenWickens1/status/1596258420734464000

“Not In Their BackYards? From 2011-21, 4 wards lost population, including the Premier's home turf. The other 3 wards that lost population, all in Scarborough, are represented by members of Mr. Ford's caucus. Four downtown wards, meanwhile accommodated more than 60% of the growth.”
