AFAIK you don’t neet the remote, there’s a combination of turning the bulbs on/off a couple of times to reset it, and then you can add them using touchlink. The process is a bit tedious, but it works.

Funny you mention mountains, Monterrey has tons of them, and although they have no snow on them, it’s a great place to go if you like the climbing or hiking type of eco-tourism.
