Got this Japanese Soda bottle with my last Sushi take-out order.

I think the shape looks beautiful and it has a really interesting closure method making the shape functional.
It's a bit Rube-Goldbergian, but pretty clever. Before you open the bottle, the little marble you see inside, is wedged in an opening in the blue cap blocking the hole and sealing the bottle.
To open it you have to use a plunger to push the marble into the bottle. To keep the marble from falling into the soda, the bottle is necked down to a slit in the middle, which the marble rests on. The soda is in the bottom portion of the bottle.
To prevent the marble from rolling back up and blocking the opening, when you are pouring the soda there are two round divets that capture the marble ... form follows function.
Oh, and the soda tasted pretty good too. Anybody knows what the story is behind this? Is this a typical soda bottle in Japan?
