@icil @shodansafari Well, on the upside it seems to have nothing installed. This might just be a DOS VM somehow exposed to the internet.
@astrid @nightshade Swapping "a" for "e", "r" for "v", "P"/"p" for "T"/"t" and ":" for ">" are evidence for a corrupted file that has the third bit in every byte stuck. Likewise, that might have corrupted the position of elements on screen.
When we made a backup image of the hard drive (with an old version of GHOST that still supports 80286 systems), we also ran into some unreadable data on the hard disk.
@nightshade If someone had googled the manual on an abandonware website in time, maybe we could have gotten in!
In this case (118/3/1/2) it was "rest".
@nightshade @astrid I'm with the assembly where got the machine running, the game is Microprose Formula One Grand Prix released for DOS in 1992.
The copy protection screen should look like this instead – except the US version doesn't ask whether you have the English, French or German version of the manual.
@Lenni Die Kombination aus Binary Eye und 32-Bit-Betriebssystem war erfolgreich. Wir haben Win32s versucht, aber das funktioniert mangels PE-Relokationsinfos nicht.
@artfulrobot @andybaio If I'm not mistaken from the ssh -vv output, the server immediately goes from key exchange to opening a session without ever requesting authentication? This may break with clients that really insist on doing auth, though.
@link Microsoft has basically killed off the on-premise server component of Skype for Business and only offers a subscription version that is priced unfavorably compared to Teams. So the client has become kind of a relic.
@jk every profession has such a tool. I've learned this year that this applies to OBS Studio in streaming and Livesplit in speedrunning
(in a philomena cunk voice) in germany, most passengers already expect their train to be cancelled. hence why, when the train is actually not cancelled, the displays will show a warning that the train is actually in service.
@CursedSilicon fyi I believe you have to convert the image mode from RGB to Palette first before you unlock the non-direct color depths, and that was always the case in Photoshop.
There is a new "Export" feature that succeeds the "Save for Web" dialog that could do it in one step, but I'm not sure that supports BMP.
