I love used books in part because of the marginalia left by previous readers (I have also uncovered 40 year old invoices, computer punch cards, and random receipts between the pages). Here is a fun one left in Stuart A. Kauffman’s “Reinventing the Sacred”. The notes stop after Chapter 6 which I am guessing is why this particular copy is now in my hands.
New epoch just dropped.
Used bookstore haul! Started some good conversations with strangers at lunch, too (the retired librarian approved of the stack but not the purchase itself).
The option list for United Airlines security question, "What is your favorite type of reading?" and it's so oddly specific and yet not. Definitely a certain type of worldview tho.
Earthquake! San Francisco.
I appreciate that Smolin is extending and modifying Leibniz’s idea of monads but really NO ONE told him that maybe a Theory of Nads isn’t the right name? Also there is a part of my brain that is forever in middle school.

Lol this is such a cute little diagram.
