I finished season 1 of Star Trek Discovery today.

The first half of the season was absolutely fantastic. The Harry Mudd episode is one of the best Trek episodes out of all the series.

But the second half of the season sucked hard. I hated everything about the fascist universe plot. I HATED that they killed off the first openly gay relationship. I hated the Tyler is a Klingon plot.

I reeeeeeaaaalllly hope season 2 doesn't try so hard to be ~premium television~

I haven't been on Masto in like a month and a bunch of new people followed me while I was gone. 2 people I recognize from irl and 1 person is following me from a new instance, but wtf are the rest of them???

Why do you know me lol???

Cassette Gods reviewed our tape and at first I thought it was a negative review but then I reread it and realized it's a positive review and they actually got it.

Minor nitpick in that only one of the tracks uses a drum machine, most of them are me actually playing a drum pad

with ext in side chaining I can have pretty cool modulation of the overdrive effect too.

AHHH

And I can motion record or parameter lock LFO depth. I can get complex waveforms to reeeeeeaaaalllly fuck with the feedback.

I think I cracked this egg wide open

Just tried the ol' headphone out into ext in overdrive trick on my drum machine.

HOLY SHIT

It's good. It gets super feedbacky if you don't control it, but if you push the envelope juuuust right you can get the gnarliest goddamn kicks.

I'll post a video next week when I can incorporate it into a song.
