my friend is the new bar manager for a fancy hotel bar in berlin, and he's been working on the new menu. he used an abstracted line drawing of william s. burroughs on the first page (based on the image below) but his boss keeps sending it back and telling him to make it look less like hitler.

around 100k people turned out in Berlin for the Gaza demonstration on saturday. not much in the anglosphere press about this. compare to the 100k who turned out in London to terrorize migrants.
the music was inspiring and the tales of horror from palestinians and allies that interspersed it gave one a sort of emotional whiplash.
german politicians (from the left party) have begun using the word genocide to describe what's happening in gaza.
