I've been typing a lot of. in the middle of my sentences, I knew it was a mac thing, just couldn't find where they hid it.
Settings > Keyboard > Text Input > Add period with double space
That means none of the automatic stuff remains, because they all, invariably, sucked.
Now that I know that pasting icons lets them escape squiggle jail, the only sensible thing to do is nerdsnipe @chockenberry to release a new version of CandyBar
