Having also been trained in the Realist school of international relations by people not named the more idealistic (though not always flawless) Condoleezza Rice, I can almost excuse Marco Rubio’s Machiavellian betrayals of Ukraine, the second George Bush’s various neocon misadventures in Iraq (a hard place with both human rights violations then and now and also oil for the Haliburtons), etc.
