@Balkingpoints The media's obsession is the biggest problem. What gives Twitter its perceived legitimacy? It's that its reporters are all on there along side celebs and politicians. They are invested in the broken bird.

@takipsizad @jenniferfumikocahill I don't know if it was for a fact, but I wouldn't be surprised at all. Why reinvent the wheel when there's open source out there that does 95% of what you want out of the box?
@jenniferfumikocahill Since Mastodon isn't "one thing" but a federation, there would not really be a way to ban him from the entire network. But any server that allowed him on would almost certainly be defederated by most of the network, I would presume.

@ifixcoinops other than politics are there other non-obvious (i.e. SFW) categories that should be CW'd? For instance, talking about sports or science or music? I wouldn't ordinarily think of those as something I would "warn" someone about... (unless I was going to play live music, then i would certainly offer earplugs!) Just wondering how far the CW ought be taken!

But if by socialist you mean pro civil rights, access to housing and medicine and mental health care and the other things a functional society needs as human rights, then shh.
