Once upon a time I inherited a project where I didn't have any way to contact the original people who wrote it. This is a sample of what the commit messages looked like. Obviously they had fun together, but for me it was painful.

PSA: Contrary to popular belief, Glassdoor can and does delete negative reviews. A review I left for a former company was removed. In contrast, here is a review that was left for the same company on the same day they fired several people: https://goo.gl/5DSVnw

Glassdoor can be manipulated like the rest. Be careful out there.
